Corrections and changes

When we get something wrong, this page says so. Every material correction is logged here with a date and what changed. Comparison sites rarely keep one of these; we think that is exactly why one is worth keeping.

Spotted an error we haven't? hello@merchantswitch.com with a link to the page. We check against the provider's published terms and update both the page and this log.

   Duplicate head-to-head pages consolidated

   We had two versions of the same comparison (a blog post and a comparison page) for Dojo vs Square, SumUp vs Zettle and iwoca vs YouLend. The blog versions now redirect to the comparison pages. Same verdicts, one URL each.

   Wrong count in our machine-readable files

   Our ai.txt file said we publish 21 head-to-head comparisons. The correct figure is 22. Fixed, and the file is now generated from the same single fact source as the pages.

3. August 2026

   Dojo pricing and exit terms corrected

   Older copy on this site said Dojo had "no published rate card" and "£0 exit fees". Both were out of date: Dojo publishes a 1.2% blended rate for businesses under £100,000 a year of card turnover, and cancelling inside the initial 12-month term incurs an early closure fee equal to the remaining costs of the contract (waived only within the first 30 days). Every Dojo page now draws these terms from one verified source, checked against dojo.tech.

   One number for each fact

   Different pages stated different figures for the same fact: 17, 15 and "20+" providers compared; savings of "20-30%", "20-40%" and "up to 80%". We audited every claim, kept the figure we could back, and moved all of them into a single source in code so a page can no longer drift on its own. The numbers we publish now: 17 providers, 20 to 30% typical savings.

5. August 2026

   Year-stamped URLs retired

   Guides published at URLs ending in "-2025" now live at year-free addresses with the old links redirecting, so an updated guide no longer carries a stale year in its address.

6. July 2026

   Testimonial and team pages removed

   Earlier versions of this site carried testimonial, success-story and team pages whose content did not meet our standard of being verifiable. We removed them rather than dress them up. If we publish reviews in future, they will be real ones you can check, with named sources.
