Dojo vs Revolut: which saves you more?
This one is a split decision, and the deciding line is your card mix. Revolut publishes the sharpest consumer-card rate in the UK, from 0.8% + 2p in person: if nearly all your customers pay with domestic consumer cards, Revolut is cheaper than Dojo's Fix plan at most volumes (about £44 against £49.99 at £5,000 a month). Dojo wins the moment the mix gets real: Fix charges one price for consumer, commercial and Amex cards alike, while Revolut's published rates for commercial and international cards reach 2.8% + 20p. A shop taking 20% of its £5,000 a month on business cards pays Revolut about £71 against £49.99 on Fix. Dojo also brings the terminal estate, pay-at-table and UK support that a reader-and-app setup does not.

Rates and fees compared
Both publish their pricing, which makes this a rare comparison you can actually compute. Dojo prices by turnover; Revolut prices by card type. Revolut figures from Revolut's published payment-acceptance pricing, checked August 2026.
| Feature | Dojo | Revolut |
|---|---|---|
| Headline in-person rate | Fix plan: £39.99/month covers card turnover up to £3,999/month, then 1% flat (under £100k/year); custom quote above | From 0.8% + 2p on domestic consumer cards |
| Other card types | One price on Fix: credit, commercial and Amex included | Cost more; Revolut's published online rates reach 2.8% + 20p for commercial and international cards |
| Monthly fee | £39.99 on the Fix plan (platform fee included) | Included with Revolut Business plans; a Revolut Business account is required |
| Settlement | Next day as standard | Within 24 hours, into the Revolut Business account |
| Contract | 30-day trial, then a 12-month price-locked plan | No fixed term on the reader |
| Hardware | Dedicated terminals from £179 upfront; free via MerchantSwitch | Revolut Reader currently £49 + VAT, bought upfront |
| Hospitality depth | Pay-at-table, bill splitting, pre-auth for tabs, 450+ EPOS integrations | Reader-and-app model tied to the Revolut ecosystem |
| Support | UK account and tech support | Primarily in-app |
| High turnover | Custom quotes above £100k/year; we have seen as low as 0.29% | Custom rates by arrangement with sales |
The takeaway, with the arithmetic shown (£25 average sale, 200 transactions at £5,000 a month): all consumer cards, Revolut costs £40 + £4 in 2p fees = £44 against £49.99 on Fix, so Revolut wins by about £6 a month. Shift 20% of that volume to business cards at Revolut's published 2.8% + 20p and the bill becomes roughly £71 (£32 + £3.20 consumer, £28 + £8 commercial) against the same £49.99 on Fix, and Dojo wins by over £250 a year. Neither answer is universal: pull three months of statements, count your card types, and run both sums before you sign anything.

How we calculated this
We take Dojo's and Revolut's published or typical advertised rates and apply them to example monthly card volumes. Total cost is worked out as transaction fees plus fixed monthly fees over 12 months. Rates change and individual pricing can often be negotiated, so treat these figures as a like-for-like guide rather than a quote. Always confirm current pricing with Dojo and Revolut before you commit.
